A New Found Hobby

So I have always loved music and always have dreamt being in a band, yet I knew that would never be possible because ive never played an instrument in my life and have never had the vocal chords to even get by in karaoke, let alone even singing in the shower. However, I have always been interested in drums and if I was ever in a band, I pictured myself to be a drummer.

To strengthen my all around skills and self being, I decided it was time to learn how to play some instruments. Ive spent all these years of just listening to music without knowing the actual musical talent that is behind the music of the album.

I just purchased some Bongo Drums my brothers purchased an African Djembe drum for me for my bday.

Now as I am a complete beginner and have no previous knowledge in percussion and rhythm, I can admit that yes, I have no rhythm, but you have to start somewhere. I am super eager to really start learning this instruments. As a class would probly be the most beneficial, I figured I would just start out with the do yourself technique. I just ordered some rhythm books and instructional dvds and am ready to go. Only thing holdin me back is finding time to just sit down and have a fun jam drummin time. Finals are exactly one week away and its that time of the quarter for all the professors to make final projects due all in the last week of school. I honestly think this will be one of my tougher finals week, as I can admit to be having a bit more fun than I should be. but when it comes down to it, i know i will still get what needs to be done done and get by just like I have the past 4 yrs.

Real excited about my newly acquired hobby, cant wait to get the webcam up when i start having my drum jam sessions.
